'We All Count' is born (we are all important), an integrated project under the European Erasmus programme that will be developed in 4 countries: Italy, Spain, Hungary and Belgium. The project has four key objectives through the use of the artistic tool:

  • Reducing school absenteeism
  • Tackling the distress situations of children and their families through the extension of school work within family environments
  • Improving the skills of education professionals to solve the problem of absenteeism and disadvantages
  • Living diversity as wealth and not as a limit

'We All Count' develops, as we have said, in four countries and in particular in the cities of Madrid and Toledo (Spain); Budapest (Hungary); Rome (Italy); Brussels (Belgium). The project takes place in schools where there is a high proportion of socially disadvantaged students.

A wide range of beneficiaries

'We All Count' will be attended by more than 120 teachers and more than 400 students from four countries, who will enjoy the cooperation of university lecturers, trainees and volunteers. This will be the result of the work done with children and their families (with the involvement of more than 500 people) as well as the participation of the entire school community. We therefore estimate that the direct and indirect beneficiaries of 'We All Count' will be at least 3,200 people in total. The common thread will be the production of a short film about the memory, the present and the future of children and their families (with dance performances, music, theatre, exhibitions, etc.), which implies the creation of a space of exchange and sharing, starting from the research into the personal and cultural reality of each (diversity as a resource). The final products will be processed by children and their families.

Partner

'We All Count' can count on the contribution of thirteen partners in the development of a project that is mainly based on practical and participatory activities. There is no room for theory for its own sake, there is no purely theoretical content, but rather we want to make sure that the theory is transmitted through practice and active participation, in order to promote social cohesion and create motivation and pleasure in learning. Part of the activities will take place on curricular hours, to achieve maximum involvement of the educational community. Partners are:

  • Italy (Rome): MUS-E ROMA ONLUS; UNIVERSITY OF ROME THREE; Comprehensive Institute Via Cutigliano; LAZIO REGION.
